Welcome!

STEP in STEM was a nine day professional development institute sponsored by Texas Instruments and supported by the University of Texas at Dallas Center for STEM Education and Research and the Texas High School Project.  Facilitated by Joe Ferrara, an independent consultant specializing in authentic instruction, the goal of the institute was to deepen instructional practice through a rigorous Project Based Learning(PBL) experience.  The culminating product was a Design Template highlighting specific features of the PBL they designed.  A copy of the Entry Document for the PBL Experience can be found below.  Teachers were also required to create websites and utilize Web 2.0 resources to enhance instruction and increase student achievement.  University faculty and Texas Instruments provided additional content and technology support.
